Society Dinner – Friday 2nd March 2007

Astronomical dinner plate Our re-arranged Society Dinner was held at The Three Horseshoes in Knockholt, on Friday 2nd March. Twenty nine brave souls made the journey through the pouring rain to gather for an excellent evening’s food and conversation. The latter ranged from discussion of the previous evening’s occultation of Saturn and plans for the following evening’s Total Lunar Eclipse, via Battlestar Galactica and the development of bagpipes to the politics of Elizabethan England and the sinking of the Mary Rose, with diversions along the way to analyse such current affairs as the effects of silicone in petrol and the London Olympics. At one point Ian even played the spoons, but there was no Morris Dancing.
