Pavement Astronomy: Transit of Mercury

Time: 11:30 am - 3:30 pm
Weather permitting

Place: Bromley High Street

Category: Outreach Events

Regretably the weather forecast is for a mostly cloudy day on the 9th, with some rain later in the afternoon. As we need to have clear conditions to view the Sun, this event cannot take place as planned. However, only if the cloud is thin or broken, then two members of the society will be at the venue for a time (1 to 2 hours) from about 11.30/12 noon in the hope of providing some chance to view the Sun rather than disappoint those that would like to see the telescopes.

The Transit of Mercury (when the planet Mercury passes across the face of the Sun) will be able to be viewed for a 3 hour period during the the afternoon and this will rely on good weather conditions.
