This is real imagery of the lunar far side with Earth in background via NASA's Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR). The spacecraft was 1.5 million km away from Earth and ~1.1 million km from the Moon when it took these 5 hours of footage pic.twitter.com/mOrV…

Who doesn’t love space potatoes? (Asteroids, of course!) This year has seen two missions succeed: Hayabusa-2 returned home with samples collected in 2018 from asteroid Ryugu; Osiris-Rex completed its sample collection from asteroid Bennu and will be back on Earth in 2023. pic.twitter.com/5RbH…

China marks another milestone, having planted their country’s flag on the Moon. The feat was accomplished by the Chinese Chang’e-5 lander, and the mission included a lunar soil sample return. pic.twitter.com/dJE2…

Not 1, not 2, but 3 missions are currently on their way to Mars, with arrivals at the red planet expected from February 2021 onwards: the HOPE orbiter launched by the UAE; the Chinese Tianwen-1 orbiter, lander and rover; and NASA’s Mars 2020 rover mission. pic.twitter.com/BBxM…
